I have some personal news to share. I am officially retiring! While I’m hanging up my professional hat, I’m not slowing down. In fact, retirement means I finally have more time to dedicate to the site and focus on enhancing the site’s features.

I’ve been hard at work making the sitename smoother, more intuitive, and more visually appealing. In particular, the mobile version is becoming a really attractive, streamlined experience giving you that modern Instagram feel, but without any of the AI generated junk or algorithmic noise. It’s just pure, high quality photography.

To make the site more engaging, I've ensured that interacting with your favorite shots is as seamless as possible. Just like you're used to on social platforms, you can now like, comment, and add photos to your favorites stream directly from the interface, making for a much better and more familiar user experience.

With all that said, I am excited to let you know about a series of user interface updates designed to give you more control over how you view and interact with the site's awesome photography.

Here is what’s new

  • Control How You Browse. You can now toggle between "Square" and "Original" formats while browsing the gallery. If you are on a mobile device, you might find the Square format provides a much cleaner, organized grid. If you want to see the full composition of every shot at a glance, simply switch to Original format. This is done by clicking the icon on the top menu, immediately to the right of the Login/Logout option.
  • I have refined how we interact with images across all devices. On mobile devices,  tapping an image now expands it to show the full version in its original format. To return to the gallery exactly where you left off, just click the "X" to close the expanded image. If you want to dive deeper, click the image itself to visit the dedicated photo page.
  • When viewing a photo from its dedicated page on mobile, you can use the Next and Previous buttons to browse photos. If you are on a desktop, use the Left and Right arrows located next to the image for seamless navigation.
  • I have introduced two distinct ways to stay caught up on the conversation.  Selecting "Comments" from the top menu shows you the most recent photos that have stayed active. Each photo is unique here, showing you only its most recent comment.
  • If you want to see the play by play activity, the "Raw Comment List" shows every single comment in the order it was posted. You may see the same photo appear multiple times, but each entry will show a unique, individual comment.
  • Presentation is everything. I have extensively researched and tested the new Dark and Light themes to ensure your photos look their absolute best, regardless of your lighting environment. You can quickly toggle between these themes using the Moon or Sun icon located in the top menu.

We are growing every day, and there’s no better time to share your latest work. Head over to siteurl try out the new themes, and show us what you’ve been shooting!

If you have any ideas or suggestions to enhance the site, just let me know. I will entertain anything that could make the site even better.
