Cancan: Ah, well that helps - I don't own this lens and wondered whether the lighting was due to flare at wide apertures, or was a result of pp. The EXIF data doesn't specify the aperture you used - I assume f 1.4? If I was using a Summarit f1.5, I would expect this type of flare at f 1.5. Thanks for identifying the cause of the flare as not being the result of pp.
Waeshael my dear
I can certainly understand what you are insinuating.
Well let me disappoint you my friend
1. i shoot with a Leica MM
2. i never !!!!! touch my frames...no changes from what god created, which is seen in the view finder
3. As the saying says: What you see is what you get.
Thank you for your comment
Great picture and scene. Would love to read more about the setting and how you grabbed the picture. From the looks of it she was aware but what about the others?
The LEICA M9 summilux 35mm f 1.4 is a classic for those who do street photo or reportage.
I am sorry that you have to sell due, always the best of my x1 stolen.
It's not that I was excited but still ......
My problem is that I can not afford an M9, I'd rather spend the money in travel , I spend all my savings in travel, I think it's the best way to invest your savings
I used the M9 for a few years, What a fantastic camera. I than bought my MM and had to sell the M9 ( both where too much).
I still love the camera and thank god i had it with me on my Cuba visit.
Cuba is so colorful, it simply needs colord photos.
It is a neglacted village in Giorgia, where only 12 famillies still live.
The youngest one is 75 years old one can reach this village only with a jeep.
I loved the place
Very nice. The monochrome really shines. If I would do anything to this at all, I would just try to bring out a little more shadow detail on the subject.
It is not only the great tones as Jim correctly commented. It is also the lines in the frame and the timing. I think that a croping to 6x7 will make it from a fine photo an excellent photo.
Nice work Dan.

P.S. Place and date, as photo title add a lot to street photography. A Winograd's obsession that proved to be a correct one. Camera and lens do not say something, this is just LI thing, but place and date say a lot. Think about it.
Superb documentary photo! The small boy looks more like a man who has world experience. Very intriguing photo which captivates my imagination tryingto think what kind of a life this boy has had.
The M8 is a great camera with fantastic results. The reason i sold it was the ISO which above 800 was grainy, not that grain is necessarily bad, and i also wanted the FULL frame, which is why i sold my M9 later on.
The MM has it all
