Manila Summer 2026

Selected project works by Jim Craig
The gentleman is reading from his phone while enjoying his morning cup of coffee. I cannot be sure what he was reading but in days of old it was commonplace to see folks reading the newspaper. This is likely what was taking place as you now rarely see newspapers.
Wrapping up an all-nighter. I say wrapping up. Many times these guys will cat nap when they can and push on for several days before going home. This shot was taken around 5am.
Be it Ever so Humble... a set of twin towers. The one that we are facing is unfinished as the developer ran out of cash when building approximately 30 back. The tower behind what we see is finished. If you happen upon it and look up ¾ of the way you will not likely see me for if I look out the window all I see is a dilapidated old unfinished tower. No need to look out the window. Oh well.
A young gal walking by Trikes that are waiting for fares.
The gentleman knew I was there but was hesitant to look up. He was having green mongo beans mixed with rice for breakfast. Plenty of protein. Plenty of strength for the upcoming day of creating music for the people of the street.
Many times I wonder if exercising in the open air in a city that deals with air pollution is the best option. But, she will pass through traffic (both vehicular and that caused by population density) and many days the air quality is not too bad.
Typical street cooked food. Looks like fried chicken and lumpia.
Two guys moving a street cart full of fruit from the roadway through the gutter onto a sidewalk. They were setting up the cart for whoever the vendor is and it was not a light cart.
Two trikers requesting a shot of themselves.
A group of workers on break recharging themselves with fresh fruit juice (it looks like). The monger is selling fried fish balls and fresh pineapple and mango juice heavily watered down. During the fruits’ season fresh is cheaper for the vendor than factory made instant.
